We photographed a fantastic wedding for Jennifer and James on May 23rd at the historic Henry Ford Estate in Dearborn.

The girls got ready at the house and then off to Saint Peter and Paul Romanian Church in Dearborn.   After a beautiful ceremony the wedding party enjoyed a trolley ride to the Henry Ford Estate. We had so much fun with the romantics making our “rounds” on the grounds of the estate that we know so well – it is one of our very favorite places to photograph – we just love it and the people that work there. The dinner was delicious as always and the reception was a lot of fun.

We photographed a great wedding for Cheryl and Jason at the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church in Troy Last Friday 5-22-09.  This is a historic building as it was a converted old barn. They met beforehand and we were able to do many of the romantics and family images ahead of time. The ceremony was very nice and then on to the reception at Club Venetian in Madison Heights  on John R & 12 Mile with it’s newly renovated entrance area. Cheryl’s mother Ann is an old friend of mine from the day s we were both doing school photography for Jostens

We designed some folios of our work and entered them into the  Detroit Professional Photographers Association in April in the 3 categories – wedding, portrait and illustrative – for both Julie and myself – Wally.  These were 10×20 single image photos on a hard cardboard backing.  This is the same size as an album spread and can also be framed.  There were quite a few entries; they were judged by our peers and we will find out the results at the DPPA banquet in June.

I have been blogging since 2006, starting with the help of my cousin Dawn in California on her “Tafoni” server.  Now we have moved everything to my own and that has worked great. Anything going to the old url  is automatically forwarded to www.wallyspicephotography.com/blog.  It is off her server!.  However, I just realized that although all the actual old posts are all here – the photos and collages are not.  So anything older than the summer of 2008 does not have the photo collages associated with that blog post.

I am working to resolve this -  just bear with me please….
