Family Session in Adrian
Posted on August 27, 2007
On August 17we photographed a family session in Adrian Michigan. Cassie and Corey were a bridal couple we photographed a few years ago and this included them and there son Edison, as well as her brother Jason and his wife Emily and their son Jackson and their parents Barb and Gary. The beautiful property backed into a little stream and we had a lot of fun. We even got everyone into one big family photo as well as all the smaller family units. The special session with Edison for his first birthday photos was also fun and we got a lot of great images.

Sarah and Adam Engagement Session
Posted on August 26, 2007
On August 10th we photographed an engagement session with Sarah and Adam in Rochester. From behind the new Park Place Hotel we could get to an old bridge over Paint Creek, we really enjoyed this area. Then we drove to the Van Husen Farm where again the Paint Creek snaked through the property. We loved the bridge and they took off their shoes and waded in the water- we all had a great time.

Michael and Megan – Urban Engagement Session
Posted on August 26, 2007
On August 9, 2007 Julie and I photographed an Urban Engagement session with Michael and Megan in Detroit. It did start to sprinkle while we were in the city but still managed to get some great shots at the Comerica Park Tiger and Hockey Town. We proceeded to Belle Isle and the weather was clearer. We enjoyed the old Casino Building with its arches and bridges and the lake close by. We ended by going to the tip of the island for spectacular views of the Detroit Skyline in the background.

Julie and Shawn photographed a morning wedding for Erin and Marc at the Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Northville. Then they headed for a great luncheon at the historical Henry Ford Estate in Dearborn. They then enjoyed making the rounds of the beautiful grounds for the romantics we so love to photograph here. A beautiful morning and early afternoon. Julie then joined Wally at the wedding she was photographing.

On Saturday August 4, we photographed 2 weddings. Wally and Deborah started with the wedding of JoAnne and Joe at the beautiful St Mary Magdalen Church in Brighton. Then we headed towards Detroit to do some urban photography by the Tiger at Comerica PArk. There was a game coming up real soon so we had a hard time getting close. Julie was meeting us and was able to get some great fun images with them there. Then we all went to Belle Isle and had so much fun with the wedding party at the fountain on Belle Isle. The reception followed at the Roostertail – where everyone enjoyed the evening.

More Images from the July Alaska trip
Posted on August 16, 2007
I have been trying to work a little on the Alaska photos. I have most of the files that were taken by most of us – we have a lot of photographers in the family so there were always a lot of cameras going.
I have been posting them on my flickr site – which is one where anyone can view and even download any size image – that makes it great to share with family and friends and anyone interested.

With my images, it is best to look at the sets – that is where they are in a better order. These sets include: their home and grounds in the mountain setting; Their immediate area on the Knik river, looking toward the Knik glacier at times; Our hike on the Matanuska glacier; Our 3 day RV trip south to Seward and area; our 3 day RV trip north to the Denali area; A set of great images of just baby Gunther; and one set of misc People images before the ceremony – many with the baby; and I just finished the set on the renewal of vows ceremony. There is still more to go – especially some family group shots etc after the ceremony etc.
These are from our hike right on the Matanuska glacier – which was really awesome.

The first collages from the Alaska trip

I have slowly made some time to go through the many images we have from our trip to Alaska where my daughter Tracy and her husband Rick renewed their vows. These are some from the wedding in their front yard. The groups are Wally with her 2 girls – Julie and Tracy and the 3 grand kids – Aaron, Steven, and the newest baby Gunther.

I just got back from spending about 2 weeks in Alaska – Julie is still there until Friday. My youngest daughter Tracy and her husband Rick were renewing their wedding vows on Sat July 21st. We treated the celebration as a family reunion – so that friends and family from the "lower 48" could witness their renewal ceremony, see their new home in the beautiful mountain setting and get to know their beautiful state. For parts of the trip we rented an RV, which, along with their pop up trailer and tents, made for some great time exploring the area.
Their baby boy is now 9 months old and the highlight for myself and most of us was getting to know this darling little guy. Needless to say we had a great time. I will post images soon – we certainly took plenty. I am trying to get used to Michigan time (& temperatures) and catch up on some more important images that need to be uploaded and worked on for my my wedding couples first, but promise to work on this also as soon as I can take the time.
July 14th, 2007 Patrice and Barry
Posted on August 2, 2007
On July 14th we photographed a great wedding at one of our most favorite places – The Henry Ford Estate. We had done an engagement session earlier which helped to get to know each other. Barry brought his Ford Model T antique car which he had restored himself – such a great personal addition. The ceremony was on the terrace and enjoyed we making our rounds on the grounds for some great romantic photographs. The reception was a fun way to end the evening.
