We are so excited to have a booth in the Perfect Wedding Guide’s bridal show next Sunday – at Petruzzellos in Troy – (OMG – that’s in 1 week!). We haven’t done a bridal show in over 10 years… Working hard on marketing and promotional pieces – I like to design these myself, love it, but tend to take forever on every little thing….Come say HI! We have really enjoyed our new growing High school senior business. Julie has been the main photographer as she has studied extensively with some of coolest and most popular Senior Photographers nationwide. This influence is showing in her awesome images that everyone loves.

This year we are building our portfolio and client base – so it’s a great time to get some great specials and deals.

We love our on Destination Sessions and specialize in the popular “Detroit Urban Destination Trip”. Also popular are the “Nature Destination trips” and the “Personalized Detination trips”. No limit on how many outfit changes, unlimited poses, and no limit on locations within the times allocated. The On Site garage Studio will soon be completed – we are excited about added this feature also.

We finally figured out a big part of the puzzle to get the blog portion of this site working better.

Thank you so much to Chris Hebert who has been working tirelessly to help me make the blog portion of this website/blog work better. There is no real support for Wordpress – that is the hard part. All my old posts (going back to 06) are supposed to show up under the galleries – if the name of the category checked and the gallery name is exactly the same – well I was skeptical and worried about this – and knew it had to be easier said than done! I was right – it was far from easy! After a lot of research, detective work, coding repair and manually entering things to make the move easier, she has succeeded to make it work .

For the 3rd year in a row we volunteered our time to photograph for the Sunset at the Zoo Fundraiser June 18th. It was a lot of fun and lots of great benefactors and people helping to raise money for our beloved zoo. We also donated a session to the Silent auction – which brought in just under $500; the grand live auction raised $113,650! Just like last year – we ended the evening with a thunderstorm warning and had to exit pretty abruptly. There was a tornado warning – and a little rain, but we didn’t get soaked like last year.

Welcome to our new Website/Blog – for Wally Spice Photography

Welcome to our new website/blog – we are so excited and proud to finally have it live and active. This is a hybrid between a regular website, adding some flash in the galleries and headers and the Wordpress blog I have had since 2006.

Nothing is ever as easy as it seems, and the “merge” was certainly a challenge. A big THANK YOU goes to Chris Hebert, for all her help in actually making it work! A thank you also to Brian and Dawn for all their help in molding the various versions of our websites and blogs over the many years!

Now we will still be tweaking and adding to this site to continue to improve on it and make it grow. We will also be populating some of the galleries that are not yet complete and hope to soon add another larger section for our growing endeavor in High School Senior photography!

So stay tuned as we continue to grow, but this is a huge step in rebuilding and growing Wally Spice Photography!

Be sure to take a look at our face book fan page, by clicking on the F symbol for some of our interim activity. We will be updating this also.

Happy St Patrick’s day everyone – ENJOY! I just got back from the Detroit Zoo and it was packed already – great day. I brought them more promotional fliers that I make to help them with their marketing – I l love supporting them – it’s a great place for a wedding and lots of other programs they do – “Say I do at the Zoo!”

Julie and Wally just photographed Angela and Kevin’s darling baby Claire when she was just 2 months old at their home. We had already photographed the wedding and the maternity “Belly Pics” and it was great to photograph the new family.

My daughter Julie Proudfoot and our friend Dawn Havrelock attended the SYNC convention for Senior Photography in Florida.
Afterwards they were fortunate enough to photograph Sarah and Chris in Ybor City for some romantic fun engagement images – in and around the city of Ybor.

What an opportunity – they did a great job and had a lot of fun.

I love this since it comes from the ratings and votes of local brides and has nothing to do with who has the biggest advertising budget! I really appreciate the vote of confidence – I have the best brides EVER!

A time of Conventions, Education and Planning ahead

I just got back from PPA – Professional Photographers of America convention in Nashville and really enjoyed it, Julie is excited to go to SYNC – for high school senior photography in Florida real soon and will also be at WPPI – (Wedding Portrait Photographers International) in Vegas in March. We are both active in DPPA (Detroit) – I’m a Past President and Julie is in line to be. We’ll be at PPM (Michigan) in Troy in Feb ….

It is so important to stay current & keep up with all the latest cutting edge changes in our industry – It does make a difference and sets us apart. In this day, experience and willingness to push ourselves to be current should count more. This is all we do for a living. It is a labor of passion and we love it!

This is a time for looking ahead to what this new year can have in store for us. We are looking forward to continuing our contemporary weddings – this has always been our main passion and nitche for almost 20 years. We would also love to venture more actively into the contemporary high school senior portrait market -… if you know of any juniors or seniors who would love to be among our “Models” – give us a call.
