It’s working….
Posted on August 7, 2010
We finally figured out a big part of the puzzle to get the blog portion of this site working better.
Thank you so much to Chris Hebert who has been working tirelessly to help me make the blog portion of this website/blog work better. There is no real support for Wordpress – that is the hard part. All my old posts (going back to 06) are supposed to show up under the galleries – if the name of the category checked and the gallery name is exactly the same – well I was skeptical and worried about this – and knew it had to be easier said than done! I was right – it was far from easy! After a lot of research, detective work, coding repair and manually entering things to make the move easier, she has succeeded to make it work .
Thanks bunches Chris -
Hope you ENJOY, let us know how you like it, we value any input.
I have not ben as active on the blog as I used to be. The Facebook Fan Page is truthfully more up to date right now – so check it out. Will be catching up on some of the recent things we have been up to
Thank you

Sunset at the Zoo Fundraiser and Charity Event 6-19-09
Posted on June 30, 2009
Julie and I came home from Florida just in time to photograph for the Sunset at the Zoo Charity Event – as we did last year. Our friend and awesome Senior photographer David Humphrey Joined us this year. We all offered our photographic services and enjoyed the evening. This year they were very organized and had us at specific areas with a suggested shot list. We even had our own “volunteer’ working with us that got photo releases signed anytime we had a group of people smiling for the cameras.
We also donated a session and some items for the blind auction on behalf of Wally Spice Photography and David also donated 2 session for his company “Masters Photography” in Flint.
The big main auction had to switched to the big tent with weather threatening and still did terrific. I believe they raised at least 100,000 just for that.
As the auction finished the rain really did start and we were all warned to leave because of a huge very severe storm coming – and it did – rained so hard and so much lightning and thunder. We were all very much the drowned rats when we finally got to the cars.
It was still a great evening, the rain held off until the end, lots of people still came, the Zoo still raised a lot of money and we had fun. It is great to help such a deserving charity as the Zoo. We love it!
Some photos soon to come!

Family Session at the Henry Ford Estate
Posted on August 1, 2008
At the beginning of July we photographed Rachel and Peter and their family at the beautiful historic Henry Ford Estate. The children were darling and they had brought their Model T along for some great images. We all had a great time making the rounds of the grounds.
We had donated a Family Session to a silent auction earlier and they were the wining bid. It is always great to be a small part of helping to preserve this historical landmark.

Family Session at the Park Place Hotel in Rochester
Posted on June 24, 2008
On June 8th we did a family group session at the Rochester Park Place Hotel after a birthday party they had there for the grandparents. When Julie’s youngest son Steven was taking Karate a few years back, Jackie was one of his instructors so it was great to work with her entire family here. We did lots of groups inside and then went outside to where the Pain Creek comes through for some phenomenal images down by the river.
This is just a small sampling of the many groups and images we were able to take.

The Drake Family Portrait Session – the winning bid of the Silent Auction for the 1st United Methodist Chuch
Posted on June 21, 2008
The Drake Family won the winning bid for the silent auction we donated to last month for the !st United Methodist Church of Troy. We photographed their portrait session in Rochester by the Paint Creek River area. It was a gorgeous area and we all had a lot of fun. I worked with the files to design a portrait album – and these are a few pages from that. This is something we would like to offer more of.

My trip to Alaska this spring
Posted on May 15, 2008
From April 23rd to May 5th I was fortunate enough to vist my daughter Tracy, her husband Rick and my darling little 18 month old grandson Gunther in Alaska. It is so hard being so far away and I just had to find the time to visit. The best part was getting to know little Gunther – he was so expressive and cuddly – beyond adorable and cute! It is so nice to see him so at home in their gorgeous surroundings in the mountains – what a great place for a little boy to grow up.
I actually did have my laptop and was able to keep up with e-mails and get some work done. I was able to work on a few album designs on the airplane.
Tracy has a lot of the best of our individual images on her Flickr site at:

I have all my collages on my flickr site at:

These are just a few – there are too many to post here – needless to say I had a great time and loved every minute.

Ranger Bay – Portrait Session
Posted on December 5, 2007
On November 26th Julie and I did a very unique portrait session for a very unique little boy and his parents. Ranger Bay is turning 3 and he is a very good little dirt bike rider. His dad and family has all been into racing and Ranger is destined to go to the racing circuit. His whole world revolves around racing and driving his dirt bike – even if it still has training wheels when he drives it. You can tell this is the world that makes this family very happy. It was very interesting. His mom is a friend of Patty’s, whose wedding we just photographed in September.

Heather and Jeff October 27, 2007
Posted on December 4, 2007
On October 27th we photographed the beautiful wedding of Heather and Jeff. The ceremony was at the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak and then on to the historic Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston. The weather was cold and windy, but the fall color was fabulous and we got some terrific romantic photographs with them outside while we could. The reception was a lot of fun.

Sharon and Jason Family Session
Posted on December 4, 2007
On November 17th we photograpahed a family sesson for Sharon and Jason and their little girl Audry at the Detroit Zoo. We started in the Butterfly House, then the Bird Avery and even tried some outside. WE had a lot of fun and got some great images, even though she got a little tired at one time. WE had photographed Sharon and Jason’s wedding back in 2002 so it was gfreart to see tham again. They were purchasing their negatives and high res scans so that they could archive them for their family history. This is something we are doing for any couple whos wedding was more than 2 years ago.

Timing Update & Site for 2007 Holiday Specials
Posted on November 17, 2007
Julie and I are running a little behind right now in the editing of the weddings, but we are working very hard to get them on line as quickly as possible. The fall has been our very busiest time – photographing 14 weddings from the middle of September to the first weekend in November. We loved every one of these and are very grateful. I have been busy with album designs also to get out some of those those gorgeous albums in time for holiday delivery. My blog updates are also a little behind because we are concentrating on getting out the main uploads, but will try to catch up here also.
We have also enjoyed photographing some family groups and engagement sessions which will be featured here also.
We have a web site page live right now – in all browsers (that was a problem at first) that has some of the specials we have going on right now in time for the holidays. We still have time to make reprints, and even Holiday cards. Any order of reprints from the online proofing that is over $100 will automatically be discounted 10% by myself when I adjust the totals. Gift certificates are always a great idea also.

Family Session in Adrian
Posted on August 27, 2007
On August 17we photographed a family session in Adrian Michigan. Cassie and Corey were a bridal couple we photographed a few years ago and this included them and there son Edison, as well as her brother Jason and his wife Emily and their son Jackson and their parents Barb and Gary. The beautiful property backed into a little stream and we had a lot of fun. We even got everyone into one big family photo as well as all the smaller family units. The special session with Edison for his first birthday photos was also fun and we got a lot of great images.

Monica’s Quinceanera June 9th
Posted on June 19, 2007
One of our fellow photographers from the Detroit Professional Photographers Association – Fred Mora, just had his daughter Monica celebrate her Quincienera. This is a touching and elaborate Mexican celebration, on her 15th birthday to commemorate her transition of becoming a young lady from a little girl. Julie and I helped with the photography and enjoyed learning about the new traditions.

Renee and Tony’s Family
Posted on December 1, 2006
Julie photographed Renee and Tony’s wonderful family last Sunday. We used Claude’s studio again – he’s been great about letting us rent the space and was a big help to Julie with the photo session overall. Everyone had a great time.

Retirement Party
Posted on November 30, 2006
Last Weekend I photographed the great retirement party for Richard K. It was a great time with family coming in from all parts of the country. We took a big group photo of everyone there from above, lots of smaller groups, and lots of the grand-kids. After dinner they had Vegas style games set up and everyone had a great time. I had photographed their son Kevin’s and Kim’s wedding about 10 years earlier.
